Hi all,

I'm after a bit of advice hopefully.

I currently have a Barclaycard Platinum credit card with 0% on purchases for 6 months and 0% on balance transfers for 14 months, with a limit of £11,800, which I have reduced down to £5,000.

I am trying to make a balance transfer from my Virgin Credit Card to the Barclaycard of £1,400 and then close the Virgin card.

The problem arises because the Virgin Card has expired and they won't issue me a new one for whatever reason. Virgin say Barclaycard should be able to do the transfer with just the card number, but when I speak to Barclaycard they say it needs to be a active card.

So I seem to be stuck on how to get this balance transfer done as Neither company is being any help.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Do you any credit card cheques with the Barclaycard? If so, could you use one of them? Careful that it doesn't get treated as a cash advance.

Why won't virgin renew the card? They are happy for you to have £1400 balance, its the least they can do imo
