Overseas Mortgages

Hi all,

I've recently been looking at possibly purchasing another property, initially I was looking close to home but have been tempted to look at a holiday home/holiday let. Looking on Rightmove, properties in Florida appear to be fairly reasonable following the market problems they've had, there seem to be a large number of villas available for around $100k+.

I've read conflicting information about the availability of mortgages, It looks like I could secure a mortgage with at least a 30% deposit? I've sent off a few emails but I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with buying out there, whether it has a lot of complications and is best avoided or now is a good time to buy?
