I bought a CD player for my Renault from a chap on another forum. He told me It had the code with it. I payed him with a faster payment bank transfer and finally recieved it 2 weeks later, with no code..

I have now PM'd him twice and he has been back online to see them but not replied. Does anyone know if im able to claim back these funds. Am i covered in anyway? I know if i had payed through paypall i would have a chance at getting it back but i offered to pay by transfer as it saved him the fee's. Never again.

Thanks for any advice.

Send something recorded delivery laying out the case, give him seven days to come up with the code or a refund. If there's no response, Small Claims Court. No hanging around, no messing. He's (possibly) stiffing you so treat him accordingly.

Thanks. It's a small some of money. £45, Not worth my time in small claims, and I know I can get a code cheap enough. I was going to withdraw maybe £15 pounds from what I payed as it was not as described but it doesn't look like thats possible. It's unfortunate, 15 years of doing this kind of thing in the dub scene and never once a problem. The first time I do the same on a Renault forum I get misleading information and no replys. Doesn't feel very good. Lesson learnt and leave it at that maybe.
I shall be messaging the owner of the forum and giving details as this guy is an area rep, whatever that means.
