In May this year I bought some Euros, from the Post Office, to go on holiday and I have just realised that I have not changed the leftovers back.

The problem is I do not have the original receipt and the Post Office will only change them if I do.

Any advice for doing this. €320 in notes, nothing smaller than a €5.

Just pay them straight into your account. I did this today at lloydstsb.

Why bother unless you need the money?

Assuming that we are not all trading potatoes and olives after the Euro meltdown the optimists are predicting you're still likely to be going to a Eurozone country again soon enough and you'll lose more on the commission than you'll gain on the interest.

Ask around at work etc, you'll probably find someone going on hols skiing happy to give you a cheque.
You could both benefit by getting a better rate.

Guys,

thanks for the info.

As I have no plans to return to Euro land in the near future I would be better of trying to pay them into my bank account as Sarnie suggested.
