Claiming for money owed by an ex!?
Discussion
Is it possible to take an ex to a small claims court for money owed by verbal agreement? Purely her word against mine. The money in question amounts to around £460, not a huge amount admittedly but significant to me.
It's more the principal, and the fact that she owes our child minder nearly £1k because she would rather spend her tax credits and the csa money I pay her on getting her nails done and going on the piss. The bh has more disposable income than me despite not working.

For £460 it's not worth the hassle, do you have documentary and legally binding proof that she owes £460?
After about 6 months trying to get the ex to ante-up on a significant amount of money she owed me. I spoke to my solicitor, they advised the best course of action was to initiate bankruptcy proceedings against the ex, served notice of intentions and money duly arrived and she also had to pay the solicitors fees, cost me about £500 which was fully recovered.
Edit: Obviously this tactic relies on the fact that the ex doesn't want to or can't afford (ie. she understands the implications) to be declared bankrupt, if she does or doesn't understand the implications you'll be last in line when any assets are sold off and have royally fked-up her financial future, although there are several mitigating steps prior to that action being taken.
