Didn't see any threads on here about trying to get life assurance when you mention motorsport/track days etc. when trying to get cover. I suspect a lot of people who do track days arent covered.

Anyway, here is my story! I do some motorsport quite regularly and at the same time am recently married, so spoke to several insurers, did the online comparisons etc. As soon as I mentioned motorsport in the other activities I was either refused cover or quoted rediculous amounts - over £100/month. I think it was direct line that wanted £80/month.

That's just crazy and I thought I was either going to have to... neglect to mention it, or not get any at all. I was messaging a guy on here, Darryl Bradford who is an independent financial adviser/broker and also does drag racing. He was able to arrange cover for me including all the motorsport correctly listed and covered for pretty much the same price as I was being quoted for a normal life assurance policy. Needless to say I took the cover.

If you do a bit of motorsport and need to look after your family if you weren't about tomorrow I suggest you give him a try - dbradfordifa@yahoo.co.uk or PM me and I'll find his number for you.

Thanks
Andy
