I have to financially appraise a construction company for a university assignment. The analysis must include performance and investment ratios (ROCE, Acid test ratio etc.).

I have the company's annual reports and a list of ratios I need to perform.

Is there a standard way of presenting this information in a report format?

I could just do a bodge job in excel but I would prefer to present it in a recognised way.

Any help would be warmly welcomed.

Thanks!

Quite a few years off university but if I was presenting this I would probably take each ratio in turn. Then first put a few lines about what it represents. Then calculate ratio for the last three financial years in a small table and finish with a few lines about what this means for the company and comment on any trends.

Yeah use Word or similar to present the results with summary at the top.
Use pasted excel tables and preferably graphic charts etc to show changes over time etc
Write text explaining each table or chart as you go through etc.

Presentation is important. Obviously do your sums right too.
If they just mark 100% on your maths and zero for presentation, then just give them the excel sheet smile
