Been working up in Scotland for last 3 months. Didn't relise I could claim my food costs at the hotel I am staying at back. I did have copies of the reciepts, however after a month of working solid up here I went home for the weekend. The cleaner at the hotel has thrown away all my reciepts I had stored along with over 10 glass irn bru bottles(!). I paid for all my food on my debit card am I correct in thinking the reciepts should still be on record for what I purchased?. Work wont accept a copy of my bank statement.

Hotel should have copies of food bought there on the ledger, and be able to do you copy invoices. Local restaurants might do you a handwritten receipt if you mark up your bank statement and explain.

Takeaways are usually good sources of blank receipts , or at least random monetary figures wink
