Probably opening a can of worms here, but I was mis sold PPI a few years back (basically pressured into taking it, implied I wouldn't get the loan if I didn't, the cover was invalid anyway as I hadn't been working long enough, wouldnt let me cancel it when I realised it was useless) and was wondering if anyone here has luck claiming it back? Are those no win no fee companies any good?

I wrote a strong email to the credit card company involved and was refunded in full with interest.

Over 3 years worth.

That should be your route as well forget the no win no fee coblers.

They might be no win no fee but they will cause waves and ask for compo to get them paid, but your credit file might be marked as a trouble maker in the future, talking direcly with the comany involed will not affect you.

whats the company the loan/cc is with?

dont use a cmc (claim management company), just get a letter template from google and send that in yourself

providing they dont have

a. a copy of the original agreement with you ticking the box for ppi

b. a copy of the call recording with you asking for the ppi

c. if you have made any claims on the ppi it will be rejected.

if all goes to plan you will get a full refund of the ppi (normally about 20% of loan value) + 8% interest.

this is my job, any more questions feel free to pm me!

A refund of premiums plus 8% interest; with the loan, if still in force, being restructured to remove the PPI element or a refund of any associated interest if the loan has ben redeemed.

i had this with blackhorse finance.

Bought a new bike with some finance, noticed after a month that it had PPI added to it. Send a strong letter to them saying to take it off.

Fast forward 4 years and i do a DPA request and find they never took it off, they had sent me a reply that i had not received.

Gave them 7 days, they said it was the dealers problem, as they were the original seller.

Anyway, once the summons dropped on their lap, they coughed, plus the 8% interest and costs.

BTW i've still got all the letters i used if you want to use them

Bump!...

Around October I put in a claim against a loan I took out 5yrs ago (Egg). After much delaying - (just over the 8 weeks allowed) they finally got back to me and said 'yes your claim is upheld, but... we cannot compensate you as the whole thing is now subject to judicial review and therefore we don't know how much we have to give you until that process is complete' I wrote back and asked that they at least refund me the premiums and I would happily wait until after the JR to decide on any additonal compensation. Needless to say they said they couldn't do that either.

So, I have letter confirming they mis-sold it to me but still I can't get any money back!

Any thoughts?
