bought a pair of trainers on ebay, paid for them and waited just past delivery date. contacted seller yesterday, no reply but today got a warning from ebay that the item listing has now been deleted.

i've opened a case with ebay but my question is this: if i paid by paypal, what are my chances of a refund. also, has the seller had any access to my bank details?

If you used Paypal you will be OK, you will get your money back.

The seller has no access to any of your financial information so no need to wory

100% chance of getting your money back if the seller doesn't reply. send your messages through paypal (I think) through the dispute thing. I forget exactly but haven't done it for a couple of years.

Thx cheps.

Plot thickens, i opened a dispute with paypal too which is now going through, but checked back on sellers profile and account has been closed by them.

Just seems odd as they had a LOT of positive feedback and this was only a 60 quid order. If the seller no longer exists on ebay will paypal still be able to refund me?

Sorry to sound dim, just not sure how it all works.

this may be the seller trying to hold onto their money, but paypal should still pay you from their own 'insurance'. It all gets a bit complicated, but you should be absolutely fine.

It might have been closed by ebay, perhaps they were fake? Don't take positive feedback as proof that they are genuine - I bought a few packs of Oral-B toothbrush heads on ebay and they were fake (but not obviously, they were VERY good fakes), and they had hundreds positive feedbacks except for my one neg. (edit: just checked and there is one more neg identifying them as fake)
