Nodding dog insco advertising a promotion which states, "Comprehensive cover only" with the caveat 'Excludes windscreen cover'.

Windscreen cover is not even a bolt-on option; they just don't do it (not 100% on this).

Not so comprehensive then, is it?!

When the policyholder needs to claim and realises the cover does not include, they then get to know how much their replacement windscreen will cost, so will the punters give old Churchie the swerve once it becomes public knowledge?

Or will most see a cheaper premium and think, 'well I've never ad to claim for a windscreen, so what the hell' ?

It's another attempt to appease the British obsession with getting the cheapest policy and then referring to as the "best".

Windscreen costs have risen exponentially this year, in fact there was a two month waiting list as they couldn't make them quick enough to supply demand courtesy of disintegrating roads after last winter.

Think you may have misunderstood it - Churchill are still covering windscreens as part of their comprehensive policy (although they do charge a 'small' excess for windscreen repairs as well as a full windscreen excess for a replacement, when other companies only charge an excess if the screen needs to be replaced).

When they say "Windscreen & glass claims excluded" that is solely in relation to their offer of "Free Guaranteed Hire Car" applying to comprehensive cover only.

I don't think I know of any other insurer who would provide a hire car for a glass claim anyway, or at least I've never come across it.
