hello there. a couple of years ago i bought some cofunds funds through bestinvest. the funds are both isa and non isa.

i am looking at moving to choosing my own stocks and shares instead of someone else doing it for me. but i have only ever paid into these funds and have never realised them into cash and have no idea how to do it. is it as easy as just e-mailing the company and what is the wait?

i hear the stock transfer rate is very high (£15) in some cases so this makes it financially unviable for me but will i just lose the isa allowances from previous years?

looking at using x-o.co.uk but have been told iii.co.uk is better. have looked at both and iii seems more informed but requires longer to set up and time is of the essence.

to round up :

1. how to realise fund shares into cash.
2. can i keep isa allowance from previous years.
3. is x-o.co.uk any good (i realise they only deal in companies listed on the london stock exchange).

Hi there,

To move your holdings away from Cofunds you will need to go through BestInvest. They will be able to advise you on transferring out your ISA (so you do not lose the tax benefits). Cofunds only deals in collective investments - we do not hold stocks and shares.

Transfer fees may not be applicable depending on who you transfer to. BestInvest will be able to advise you on this as well.

Unfortunatly, Cofunds cannot deal direct with investors we can only accept instructions from your nominated adviser at BestInvest.

I hope this helps.
