Finally saved enough for a 10% deposit on a reasonable place. What is the best rate we could expect and who from. It's a joint mortgage, one average salary, one above average, good credit ratings etc.

Obviously trying some advisors but I gather lenders don't always offer them ideal rates now for some reason?

Try the Post office Mortgage site - looks very straight forward and seem quite competitive for low deposit rates but fees are nearly £1K !! Swings and Roundabouts....

Also look at Money Supermarket (other Meercat comparison services are available); there is a actual section / pre-set search for 10% deposits...

Like me you wont be able to get any First Direct product, nor an offset, as apparently both require 25% ??

Only just started looking in anger myself really, but these are my initial findings....

I'm sure somebody will be along to add their own advice...!

Not sure how bothered you are about the locality of your advisor, but give cartermoore a call (www.cartermoore.co.uk) 01793 877745
Ask to speak to John Moore, it is no exageration to say that without John I would not be in the house I am in now, the company's service is second to none.

  • I have no affiliation with the company other than being a very satisfied customer
