My son just landed job......How much take home?

Hi all,

One of my sons has just rung me to say he has just landed a (junior) software engineering job (his first proper one) with a largish IT company, starting salary £22k.....starts in a couple of weeks.

Prospects for promotion are good.

So, as he is single, after stoppages (tax NIC etc) and student loan repayments...(Debt around 13k), how much is he likely to come out with per week/month...because he needs to sort a flat out pronto......

Whats he paying back on the student loan?

Before the student loan I would expect around £1380 take home.

Factoring in around £125/m for student loan then he'll take home around £1300 per month.

£1425 before loan.
