Received this a short while ago.

If you get anything like this - ignore it. It's a pathetic attempt at a scam.

Eric I get one of these about once a month, I report them the to Phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk

He's one of there replies

"Thank you for notifying HM Revenue & Customs of the suspicious e-mail you have received.
Please be aware that HMRC DO NOT send e-mails that:-

notify customers of eligibility to a repayment or, request personal information or payment.

Our specialist team will look into your submission and take the necessary action. We cannot always inform you of the outcome of these investigations but each submission is acted upon."

Report it or bin it, there ain't no money comming back.

Shame as my rebate is worth £928. cry

They can email, but won't for a standard, "I've paid too much / too little query" biggrin

If you do click on the site, the "S" is missing, ie HTTPS, all secure sites have the "S" in them.

I know you will say "We all know that", sadly not all know it, pal at work, when I told him about the scam, said he had clicked on it and give them ghis bank details...............

Mind you, he is an Evo driver...............

Fortunately lost nothing, called his bank straight away.
