Currently 3 months into my new job, It contains a renumeration package as the job involves me being away from home for months on head. The package is worth 10k a year alone, however im paying PAYE and NI on this according to my payslip. Is this correct ?

You say you are away from home alot, hence you are receiving extra pay. What sort of role is it? Is this a completely new job or a new role within a company you were already working for?

Are you working offshore on onshore? Why didn't you expect to pay tax and NI on your UK salary??

More info is needed on what exactly the additional payments are being made for and the personal circumstances of the OP. Just because it's being paid doesn't mean its taxable and NICable.

Does the OP have to fund his living away from home costs out of his overall salary package?

In other words, what are these extra costs and who actually pays them.
