For some reason, I use a debit card for everything, probably something to do with personal trust issues. Anyway, if I were to get a credit card to benifit from 'points' to exchange for 'stuff I don't need, but at least I've not paid for it (directly)', what would you suggest?

I'm thinking going Airmiles, because hey, everyone likes a holiday. But am I going to get enough to pay for any good travelling?

Waitrose, purely as I shop there, I can avoid the queues and get JL vouchers out of it for more crap.

I'll be ensuring a DD is setup to pay the full balance, so rates aren't the big problem here, its just what is best bang for buck.

I've got a Barclaycard - gives reward money at selected retailers - including 0.5% at shell...

I happen to shop at a couple of the places that offer reward money so it works out quite well..

You see, that might be a gooden. You get Priority points, but you can convert them to airmiles if you wish.

Tesco is pretty good. Get vouchers which can be x4 in many places. Just about to buy the Mrs a Tag watch from Goldsmiths with just over a year's worth of points from card and shopping. ~£1k pm on card, including ~£500 at tesco.

ANother vote for the Tesco credit cars.
I have the old one which gives you double what their current one does but thats no longer available so you have the current one.

Basically you earn Clubcard points on everything you buy outside of Tesco Plus what you spend inside Tesco. Result is you get a lot of Tesco vouchers - I always use them on their clubcard deals so their £ value is actually worth 4 times the amount.

Normally I get annual RAC cover for both cars max cover
Many meals out
Hotels paid for
And you can you them for oversas Travel.

Im spending on a card around £2-2.5k pcm but thats stuff Id be buying anyway so I ge a lot of freebees.

The Amex is good too BUT not accepted everywhere as they do charge a lot.
