Self-certified mortgages
Discussion
Could anyone tell me if self cert mortgages are on the market and can be obtained?
I was on a 9 month contract. I've got a 15% deposit for a £150k house (I'm a FTB). My monthly wages slips easily put me in the bracket for the house but I don't have payslips for May and June so NatWest said they can't give me a mortgage.
My next contract starts in Oct (again 9 month) but I don't want to wait that long.
Would a self-cert be easily obtainable and can anyone recommend a decent broker

Contractors who don't have concurrently renewed contracts are going to struggle to get a mortgage in the current market. If you have a 9 month contract and tell a mortgage lender that you're permanently employed you will be comitting fraud. ATV said:

No, and no decent broker will touch this with a bargepole.Gassing Station | Finance | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
