Twice now a certain building society has taken additional loan payments after a loan has been paid. The first time happened 3 years ago and then this month its happened again.

They are pretty good about it and I got my money back last time even if it took 2 weeks and i received a cheque.

2 reasons ive posted,

I wondered if this has happened to anyone else?

And mainly to warn people that this can happen. So be aware of when your loan is finished.

But if they try to take a payment and the direct debit has been cancelled wont that effect your credit rating or have some other knock on effect?
