A question to those of you who have recently bought. How much cash did you need to get sorted? (deposit, legal fees etc) what size mortgage did it secure?

Depends on the price band you are looking at, area etc. Under 100k or over 250k the fees are going to vary as is the cost (but not the %, maybe) of the deposit.

I'd be looking at 10-20% minimum to cover yourself.

I was planning on a 20% deposit, so sounds about the correct ballpark.
