Is this available?
I'm pretty solvent with a good credit rating and want to spend c. 15k on a car.
Probably 10 of that through debt.
I don't want to remortgage to get cheap finance and I wondered if this was an alternative to a personal loan.
In which case are the rates a nightmare or are they sensible?

Personal unsecured loan if buying private probably best.
Or talk to the dealer otherwise, they usually have finance deals available.
Make sure you look at the APR.

May be available but personal loans are generally cheaper if you've a good credit rating, certainly at the ~£10k level.

It also means it's much easier to sell the car on privately as the car is always yours.

Nick - we could help finance a private purchase on a car finance agreement - however the consumer credit act stipulates that you would have to sign the agreement on trade premises. This is usually the car dealer, but it can be done at the finance company as well. Would be happy to give figures if you're looking for comparison, just pm me.
