Stuck in the mud.... well actually its my house.
Discussion
I need some guidance please,
Me and my wife are in our first house which we have lived in for a number of years its a little 1 bedroom house which has been perfect untill now.
We need to move as there will not be two of us for much longer(if you know what I mean) the problem is that with the housing market and lending market we havent got enough deposit to move. Our current mortgage company have lowered their LTV to 75%. Banks seem to be lending 90% LTV which would still leave us with 10K to find.
Would any of you consider taking a loan to top up the deposit?
I cant think of any other alternatives. Which is why I am asking my fellow pistonheads....

This is why people live further out and commute to work
Seriously though, how much are you stretching yourselves financially? Is the Mrs definitely going back to work after the baby comes? Who looks after the baby? (cost?). Of course you could take a £10k loan to make up the gap, but is that the right thing in the current climate without even thinking about your situation?

Edited to add: I see you have a Lotus Elise - sell it and use the proceeds (or is it on the never never?). Buy another in a year or two once you've got moved and sorted.
