Online Share Trading - Non UK Resident

Just looking into setting up an on-line trading account to play with my pocket money and it seems that they all require you to be a UK resident. Why is this?

Does anyone know how I can buy and sell from overseas?

Try out Interactive Brokers. They should allow you to trade if your not a Uk resident. However be warned the platform is not one of the easiest to use for beginners.

A few others I think are Internax and Saxo bank although I have no idea what their platform's are like.
