Hi, first post here. Bit of advice.

The OH has had a few hundred (round figure) credited to her current account by bacs from the Bank of England. She queried it with her bank, but they have no more info other than what's on her statement. They also suggested calling the BoE. So before we call (which will probably end up in a long call) - anyone had this previously?

It'll be a mistake. It'll be taken back. Tell her NOT to spend it, that's theft.

Oh don't worry - we're not spending it. We just want to let the right people know what's happened.

Bank of England?

Maybe it's the Government's way of bringing in the new higher Personal Tax Allowance without having to bother changing everybody's tax codings - again.

Is your OH a secret double agent leading another life entirely and you've just found out?

I like it smile

Kill two birds with one stone - wreck the economy but make people feel good about it at the same time.
