Claiming tax back whilst still employed

Gents, I've overpaid tax (PAYE) by nearly £1,000 in the last financial year and although I'm still employed by the same employer I would like to claim the tax back.

I'm sure in the past I have just written a letter to the HMRC asking for some money back, but is there a form I can just fill in and stick in the post instead?
