canceling contracts early??

hey guys, need some advice..
basically i have a mobile dongle thingy on orange, as in my old house i never had a landline, and saw this as a good alternative..signal was good, internet was fast etc
now ive moved to a welshlonghouse in north wales..the walls are thick and i get really s
te signal!
it did use to be on 3G+ but now it just has one bar signal on EDGE
i have it on a long usb lead to the window but still no improvement
its a pain in the ass as it takes days to load pictures, and my xbox 360 live play glitches as the system cant download/upload fast enough
so this is where i need advice with...
a mate of mine works for sky and can get me half price sky for the first year as an introductory discount, and i have seen a sky advert where for 11pound a month you get 20gb data allowance, line rental and calls( i think calls anyway, cant remember)
basically i want to do this as it will work out better having a wired internet access into the house, then a wireless router set up! plus i will benefit from the landline and sky!
what can i do to end the contract early?
iirc im paying £25 a month for 10gb data allowance, and its really slow!
would i be able to phone up and say something along the lines of...i cant afford to pay.lost my job etc?
i wouldnt mind if i have to pay a cancellation fee etc!
any help would be appreciated
