Credit Report - Some Advice Needed

I am a member of credit expert and have been tracking my credit score for a while. The last time i checked was December 09 and it was 999. I just logged on today and its down on the floor at 298 "very poor".
This appears to be becasue of an old Abbey National account that is overdrawn by £109 and has had 3 missed payments (im assuming that means they have added charges 3 months in a row and nothing has been paid in?)
Bottom line is my girlfriend made the account overdrawn by £19 in December and didnt say anything to me and we havnt had any statements from the bank or a phone call to notify of this problem.
My credit score is now on its arse and after speaking to credit expert they say it will take 3-4 months to start going back up again! Does anyone on here know anything i can do? I am going to the bank tomorrow to get this £109 cleared but is there anyway Abbey will be able to remove the late payment marks from my credit score as i didnt even know about them?
