Ex-bankrupts can get mortgage finance. (Its not really a great thing to have on your credit file, but after 3 years from the date of discharge she should be able to secure a loan at prime rates, sooner if she will put up with adverse rates)
However if she had a jointly held mortgage and the property was repossessed, she's going to strugle in the future. As you can imagine, lenders really aren't hugely interested in lending to people who have been in trouble before.

Does she keep an eye on her credit file. If so, is it now clean, and is she re-building her credit.
I've dealt with a few bankrupts and often there is stuff still hanging about in the background, she needs to keep an eye on this.

It'll stay on the credit report for 6 years from discharge I think.
However, if applying for credit, the question will be asked about any previous bankruptcy.
If she were to lie on this point, then she would be committing fraud. Chances of a lender finding out might be tiny, but its probably not worth the risk tbh.

You'd end the relationship because of it? When I think back on my previous ralationships in the first few months your at it like rabbits & the last thing i'd worry about is her credit profile.

I'd say go with the flow, dont let her have your credit cards what ever you do dont get her pregnant. eek

No - I was (hoping to) highlight the "few months" co-incidence in the two comments, as in; perhaps the magic is wearing off and harsh reality is setting in?

I think the point was to indicate that he has spent the past few months turning her face into a passable imitation of a plasterers radio and having quite enjoyed the whole thing is now considering what else there is in life one needs to have an understanding of before you look at if you are compatible on more levels than those that involve feeding the one eyed monster.

ETA, as above, submitted whilst i was typing smile
