Afternoon,

After a bit of advice, credit card im currently using (Tesco) is no longer giving me the 0% interest it was when I first applied for it, looking at transferring the balance £1k give or take over onto another card with a 0% balance transfer and 0% interest rate on it, quick search of money saving expert gave me a few results, such as this...

http://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/credit-cards-v14/...

Is it as simple as applying for the new card, and paying off the tesco one, then closing the account? Have I missed anything?

As for the virgin card, it seems to tick all the boxes (0% for 12 months etc) so should do the job. Just looking for something to allow me to pay of the £1k without paying anymore interest. Just reading the FAQ's though and i've noticed this...

Also, as the Virgin Credit Card is issued by MBNA, remember you can't transfer a balance from another credit card issued by them.

Can't seem to find whether or not the Tesco card is issued by MBNA?

Any other tips / reccomendations would be helpful,

Thanks

Tesco are RBS I think. They certainly aren't MBNA.

Beware of the 2% or 3% balance trasfer cost that most charge. With anything like this, check the small print.

You think they're a charity?

Read the small print. You'll pay a fee, and if you miss one payment by one minute you'll be on 28.9% APR!

Get the barclay card on offer at the minute I got one the other day to move £2k, took five minutes to do online and get the ok from them, card arrived and have done the transfers.

0% for 15 months small fee

Virgin are a bunch of bds, they are ludicrous with their fee's and also their online banking is pony.

Satander are advertising one with 0% and no transfer fee.

Just like the good old days.
