Need some advice re closed accounts and cash getting paid in

Right situ is this.

wages got paid into an account that is closed (dumb on my part) not the bank (sound like salamander) told me after 4 days they would reject it and all would be rosy.

well they havent, payroll are saying its in the Salamander account and i should speak to them and salamander are saying we dont have it...

any advice?

Until the money bounces back into your Comapny's bank account, they won't be able to do anything. If the account no longer exists, then essentially there would have been nowhere for it to go so would automatically re-bound. Sometimes it takes a little while for the money to bounce around, what day was the payment due?

Chances are the money is moving via the BACS system, so it'll take 2-3 days to go each way. The payment should have bounced and been on the way back on the day it "hit" the closed account.

finally bounced back yesterday and was receipted into my proper account as of last night. Was a bit surprised at how long it took. But hohum done and dusted now and i got paid so happy days.
