Submitted my online SA today (was only advised to do it recently) via Taxcalc program.

Should have a refund of just over £1k, any idea how long it will take into my bank?

Did you tick the "please refund any overpayments to my bank account option"?

If you did, you should have it back within two weeks.

Still nothing, I guess they are looking into it carefully?

Chase them up and ask why it hasn't been repaid yet.

They said it’s supposed to have been paid already, but keeps being held back for some reason. I was promised it would be paid today, but nothing has appeared in the bank.

Do they add on interest automatically when they pay late, and what qualifies as late?

They used to add interest, yes, but now the BoE base rate is "zero" (their words), they don't bother.

I was waiting for 5 months following confirmation that a tax refund was due to me.
