A while ago I remember reading something about a company that would invest a sum of money for you, moving it around banks to take advantage of whichever was offering the best interest rate at the time and taking advantage of introductory rates. They also made sure that no more than £30K was in any one bank, and I think it was all done by someone reputable and it was always your money held by the banks not by them. You could of course do this all yourself but it takes a bit of time to move money around and regularly review the best rates.

In return they took off something like the top 0.5% of interest to cover their costs.

I can't remember who the company was. Does anyone know anything about this?
