Hi,

With improving my credit rating, does the amount I spend on my credit card help improve the rating? Or is it just the ability to buy something on credit, effectively manage the debt, and pay it back on time?

So if I buy something on my debit card and realise I should have used my credit card then buy something cheaper, is this just as effective as buying the original item on credit [card]?

Thanks

eybic

afaik spending on your card is a good thing as long as you pay it back asap, it is also the percentage of available credit that you are using which has an effect. If you have say a 1k limit and owe £900 then you are using 90% of your available credit so a high risk.
