Does the company have to be FSA registered if your buying a car using Finance.

I have been offered a deal by a dealer who is using a third party company but they only have a consumer credit licence which I have never heard of.

Anyone wanna throw some light on this one?

I presume that they would need an FSA licence if they are providing financial advice. If they are just lending, or broking finance, then a credit licence would be sufficient.

We 'only' have a CCL. You only need FSA certs for selling add-on insurance etc.

anyone dealing in lending/debt/etc needs a CCL - not everyone dealing in debt needs to be FSA registered.
