Personal loan at 25% APR. WTF?

Just for interest, I thought I'd see what unsecured personal loans were running at whilst I was logged in to my internet banking.

Bearing in mind that last time I looked into this (pre-recession) the APR was 8%, I was a bit shocked to see it was now an APR of 25%

They have to be having a laugh, surely?

you should be able to get something at 8-10%, did you try money supermarket? unless that is your credit rating is poor then APR will be much higher.
