I know this will go down like a lead balloon here but I think there are some civil servants around here so thought I would ask..

I've recently changed jobs into the public sector (yes I know these pensions are bankrupting the country etc so please don't bother to point this out, I apologise for being part of this and thank you all for paying for it through you taxes smile ) and am trying to get my head around the pension options.

It seems the Nuvos pension is far better than the others on offer. I've read all the bumph that came in the post about it, but is there a catch to it?

Ta.

There's a £60 billion deficit in public sector pension funds. The conditions are likely to be changed in the future even for those with existing agreements. If there isn't enough money then cuts are the only way.
