I lease an office with a flat above which i rent out. Had a call from the tenants tonight, burst pipe, water everywhere!

Raced to the Office, the ceiling has come down in my office and it's a total disaster area. The tenants have had to find somewhere else to stay tonight/until it's sorted. The flat is not fit to live in, my office is trashed.

My question is will this all be covered by buildings insurance? i.e. tenant compensation for hotel bills and ruined clothes/vakuables and loss of business or will it be a joint buildings/contents claim as they are with different insurers?

Your policy/insurer should be able to answer all these questions for you. Not being rude but its unlikely anybody will know the details of your policy on here.
