Car Finance Options with short UK residence record?

My wifes cheap run about has given out on us. I was hoping to buy her a newer car after March when I will be receiving my annual bonus.
As she is currently without a car, probably at the worst time of the year, weather considering, what are our options for purchasing a car with finance?
We have been in the UK since March 2009, I have been working in the UK since April 2009. I earn a reasonably good salary but have limited credit history in the UK. I subscribe to Experian and my most recent score is around 740 which I believe is 'average'.
What are our options to get finance - I believe there might be a minimum UK residency period? Trying to avoid the high APR 'sharks' if at all possible.
