Help please!
I'm very new to share dealing, and have a small amount of Lloyds shares, purchased in July. I have received the big envelope through the post, and don't really know what to do now. Sympathetic advice please........

Usual consensis is to take up the rights issues unless total disaster is looming.

Thanks for prompt reply, but as mentioned, new at this, how do I go about it?

I took the last one up, am probably going to leave this and take whatever cash comes. Mainly as dont have that cash laying around to buy more.

Same for me - envelope posted to sell my rights. Happy to hold on to what I have got but at this moment not willing to invest more. It was 50:50 tail swallow or sell.

I've invested another £500 odd. It seems the only thing to do in a rights issue. I can't see them going to the wall and the shareprice should reamin higher then the offer price.

Lets hope that doesn't come to bite me in the arse.

I have Lloyds in the kids' child trust funds and let the previous one (or was it two?) lapse, fairly glad I did given what happened to the share price subsequently. However this time I think I'll take them up. The increased market share with HBOS will - eventually - pay dividends. I hope.

My daughter thanks you, Mr Brown, for forcing HBOS on Lloyds and decimating the share price. My son isn't fussed though, as he got his a lot cheaper!

I was unable to buy any more, so sold entire holding last Weds. Bought them all back on Friday, and ended up with 55% more stock for the same invested value. Still not sure what will happen to the price in the short term when the new shares are traded, but over a 12 month period it's got to be better than money in the Building Society. After all, this floatation is only boosting the balance sheet to keep the Gov't off their back, so you'd imagine that share price should theoretically return to the pre-floatation price of circa £1.

You can add that to your collection of famous last words no doubt!

Poor sod, you didn't jump first time round then? I did, got back in fairly near the bottom which so far seems to have been worth it.
