Shell citicard cashback
Discussion
I'm sure a few of you PHers here have a Shell citicard, which offers 3% cashback on fuel purchased at a shell station (if cost is over £1.00 per liter).
Well this has now kindly been reduced to 1%, which hardly makes it worthwhile, and the 1% cashback on everything else is now 0.5%.
The terrible customer service offered by the indian callcenters, which have hung up on me many times because they don't understand my query, and those that don't make up answers - combined with the now rubbish cashback means I now no longer wish to use this card.
So my question is : What best benefit card is available now?
Cashback, air miles etc.
I use my credit card a fair bit, and pay it off every month - and also get my dad to put any significant costs or items on my card, so cashback can build up - sisters uni fee's etc.
So over the year probably about 20-30k goes through the card.
What best card is there for me to make use of the situation?
Thanks for the help in advance.

Anything Amex will always give you the best cashback, but that cost is passed on to retailers so by no means all places will take it. Cashback VISA and Mastercard deals are all pretty dreadful at the moment. Probably the best you can get are the 'loyalty point' ones, e.g. Tesco. There is an article on moneysavingexpert.com to compare them.
Have cancelled both AmEx. and Shell cards after their recent changes to T&Cs.
According to Which?, Egg is next best with 1% cashback.

(However, my experience of their application processing is it's v. protracted.)

I've just ditdhed my Citi Shell Mastercard for the very reason stated above. I 've had £281 cashback with it.According to Which?, Egg is next best with 1% cashback.

I toyed for a long while with the idea of the Amex Platinum, but 3% back and max of £100 cash is not good enough, and the thought that it might not be accepted in a few places puts me right off.
So I've just applied for the Barclaycard Cashback Credit Card.
(Quick Stats: Standard Cashback. 1% on first £2,000, 0.5% above that, up to £20,000 spend. Standard Rate: 14.9% APR Monthly Fee: NONE Min. Income: £20,000. Max. cashback/year: £110
Maybe a mistake, but I'm going with it. I'm sorry not to go with AMEX, but the whole point of a credit card in my view is that it gives you credit ANYWHERE, and Amex have shot themselves in the foot with high charges if places turn you down.

Indeed - I have an Amex card & a Visa card & the Amex is used as a preference. Most months my Visa bill is just about the same size as the Amex bill, such is the number of retailers that won't take Amex.

I'm another PHer with a Shell Mastercard who is thinking of ditching it for another card after their recent slashing of their cashback terms.
I've also moved and now have a couple of Tesco garages near me with 99 Ron, so V-Power is no longer my fuel of choice and my monthly spend at Shell will drop significantly.
I have an old Egg Visa card from years back, I'll check and see if it has the cashback terms on it.
The Shell Mastercard was great whilst it lasted though.
