Applying For Credit Cards?

I'm considering applying for a Virgin Credit Card to take advantage of the 0% balance transfer to transfer a balance of £650 which is currently on another card.
I don't have the worlds best credit history but in the past few months I've paid off and closed a credit card account with a balance of £750 and also applied and been accepted for my first mortgage

Would you think that Virging would be likely to accept my application or not? I don't really want to be applying for cards and getting rejected as I've heard that this can affect your credit score.
