Need to change a few hundred £ into US dollars, and just wondering if anybody knows who has the best deals on the high street at the moment?

Naah.. they'll completely rip you off. You want a small outfit. Are you in London? Then try City Forex in Leadenhall market - excellent rates.

Have used these guys many times - ring them they give you a price and then transfer the funds into their account and a day later you'll have your foreign currency.

You can also pop down to their London branch if you don't fancy doing it by post.

Marks and Sparks have been good to me in the past, but I always shop around.

I always ask "How much would it cost me to buy $300."

That way you don't need to work out fees, exchange rates or comission.

Ended up getting them on the Stand, just down the road from Travelbag. There was a small place that was open after 6pm and ended up getting $1.65 to £1 so not too bad. At the airport this morning they were offering $1.55 to £1...
