Shell Citi Mastercard (which has been closed to new customers for six months or so) has just adjusted its great cashback rates.

Previously: 3% cashback on Shell fuel and 1% cashback on everything else

Now: 1% cashback on Shell fuel and 0.25% on everything else, AND max £120/year back

It was too good to last and in 14 months I got £271 cashback.

Anybody suggest another good cashback card not Amex........

Had the same good news this morning. New rates effective from October I believe.

Will probably just cancel it after the old rate runs out. Bugger them!

I'm getting recommendations to go to Amex Platinum, but Amex scares me, I know people say not everywhere takes it....

Went out with my sister and her other half a few days back. She had just received her Amex card. Proceeded to pay the bill at Pizza Express with it, no problem. Said she has yet to be told that it isn't accepted when presenting it.

I cancelled mine after it was cloned twice this year. Replaced it with a play.com card from MBNA

1% back to use on DVDs, CDs, memory cards and suchlike suits me smile

I use mine quite a lot. Most noticeable issues are in smaller shops and restaurants where they say they can't take it. Apparently they often can, but would rather not due to higher fees.

I would never have just one credit card anyway. Running 3 at the moment and had 4 until very recently. Keep one specifically for online purchases.

Capital One Mastercard gives me 1% back on all purchases, not sure if available to new customers though ( was 3% for first 3 months )

However have just cancelled the free holiday insurance, but now give you an extra £10 when they give you the cashback in January.

Pretty good service too, were great when card was cloned last year.
