hi everyone,
i'm hoping i've put this in the right place.
a lot of orange customers will have received a text about new charges being put in place.

if you have a read of the following link, it may be possible to cancel your contract, or at least get yourself a better deal.
just have a read through and see if it may help.

http://www.bitterwallet.com/cancelling-your-orange...

i rang them up, as soon as i mentioned the text message they knew exactly what i was talking about, they went through the last 3 months bills to see how much over my plan i was and they basically offered to cancel the 3 contracts on my account.

really useful link, especially when my orange phone never had a signal

You're not alone there! Two of my friends are on Orange and I reckon 75% of calls with them involve the words 'Hello?....Hello?....Can you hear me?"

Absolutely dreadful.

My Orange experience is absolute toilet. I'd do anything to get out of this contract......but refuse to pay them £300 odd to do so. Even if I did get the text/email..I'd have instantly binned it.

chilli, doesnt matter if you've had it and deleted it, it's all on the computer anyway.
my cousin rang up this morning, she hasnt received the text, but she said she'd heard about it and wondered if it would affect her.
they looked through all the phone bills etc. and said she was able to have £20 off her next bill as a token gesture, or a better contract. she said she didn't want either and they said ok we'll cancel it for you.

seem to have shot themself in the foot with this one

I pitched it by asking them in billing about the rate changes, There is going to be a connection charge of 15p to 08 numbers and a pence per min charge of 15p (or there abouts) So if you are only on for one minute it is over 100% more expensive, I then quote that is against there contact and could they pass me through to cancellations. Depending on who you get will depend on your outcome, some say you cant some try talking you out of it etc etc,
just keep trying and eventually someone will do it, just look on the link and learn the important bits. I cancelled mine and have now got a free blackberry curve with Voda and 3 months free line rental.

See, I'll lose it and end up doubling my contract period. Can't I just write them a letter??!!

I've emailed them!!!
I hate Orange with a passion. Had nothing but problems with my phone, which rarely works, I always lose connection and can never seem to connect to the internet. My bill is never below £75 a month....t'was never more than £20 odd with Vodafone. Feel a nice new ipod coming on.
