Gents - Inchcape currently at 25p. THey have managed to survive the recent crash in vehicle residual values.

Worth a punt at 25p a share?

I'm no great pundit myself but a friend who put me onto Pendragon @ 16p recommended I buy into Inchcape at the beginning of this month when they were about 20p.
There are good results expected on wednesday apparently so I would have been a fool to ignore his advice & at 25p he thinks they still have a way to go.

Shares can go down as well as up so if it's not spare money, leave it in the bank

The banks are paying no interest, so you might as well put it under your bed.

Was thinking about a long term play with Inchcape and Taylor Wimpey. Probably worth a £500 punt on each.

You appear to have arrived late at this party!

Yes Matttttt, but late is a relative term wink

I expect there is still some gains to be had from companies with huge market cap at historically low values.

Though I would have preferred to be at the party earlier, I still may partake a beer or two before it closes.

True, but any longer term gains off of a £500 punt are likely to be (relatively) minimal.

For a £500 punt, there must be higher risk short term contenders.

If it's a good party it doesn't matter if you arrive late.

Well, if I take £50/point with a 7 point stoploss, I lose £350 if it drops to 18p. If it gets to 50p, I make £1250.

Well, if you're talking CFD then fair enough - I thought you were going to buy £500 worth, then sit back and watch it over a few years.

No, leveraged punt on IG, with trailing stoploss.

No, that was Pendragon.
