Recommend me a debt collection company.

Hi folks, a brief outline of our problem;

We hired a self employed builder to do renovations to our home, he buggered off with our money and didn't finish the job. We have now pursued him through Sheriff Court and have a decree against him (which has been ignored) then went for the next stage of an attachment order. At this point he contacted the Sheriff Officers and begged to be given the chance to pay the debt monthly. We reluctantly agreed and even went to the trouble of setting up a seperate bank account for him to pay into. Surprise surprise come the due date no money has been received.

So we are very peed off and are sick of this con man dodging everything we try to do, I personally feel the Sheriff Officers have been a waste of time, 3 visits to stick papers through his letterbox @ almost £400 charges!

We now want some substantial action enforced so i'm thinking of hiring one of the more 'hardline' collection agencies to pursue this guy and make him pay up, the current debt is around £3600.
Alternatively we would consider selling the debt if possible.

Any advice welcome.
