Government have given in to pressure and increased the threshold from £1m to £2.5m: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/inheritance-tax...

Not something that was expected, but better than it being capped at a lower level.

It’s a good thing that they’re taking less than they originally intended, but still not as good as it being uncapped.

It’s still worse position than before and arguably the tax take from this, along with all the other increases/raids, is what the government is spending…
