Earlier this year my Sky Broadband went down and I was left without services for 32 days. As a result my only internet was via tethering my mobile phone. All along Sky told me not to worry as I would be compensated and that money could be paid into my bank to cover the added tethering costs.

Eventually my services were restored and I was told that my compensation would take a few weeks to process. Then, 3 weeks ago, I was awarded £296.44 and I requested this be paid into my bank. I have been assured several times, that these funds would reach my account in 3 to 5 working days. I even have text messages from Sky that repeat this assurance that the funds are on route.

Still no refund.

Anyone else had similar issues with Sky UK? What should I do next?

Just emailed them, as I figured it's probably better to be able to evidence what is being said, only to then get WhatsApp messages from Sky stating ''there is an issue affecting multiple accounts where refunds are not being processed correctly. It is under investigation but they have no workarounds to have this money refunded''.

I suggested they send me a cheque instead and they asked for confirmation of my address, although their issue (whatever it is) ''is affecting these too''.

I just find it baffling that an organisation the size of Sky cannot pay £289!

wow £289....i know you lost the service for an extended period, i lost bband with them for about a week, had to buy a 4g dongleand spent about £100 on that and data from EE.
Sky's offer was £13 or so.....'in line with the terms of your contract £x per mth divided by 7 days'.

anyways, hope you get the funds from teh weasels!

Well they called to book a call with their complaints team for 1pm Thursday but they've also said that the refund is due to be paid on May 10th, which is also the date my Direct Debit is usually taken. I think they're confusing something there and will be amazed if the refund is actually paid at all, let alone on that specific date. I may ring them again shortly, just to see what today's excuses are.
