Angel investors or Venture capitalists

Looking for referrals or recommendations if possible.

A client of mine (electronics) is looking for early stage investment from up to six investors, raising £1.5m - £2m. £1.5m has been raised so far from angel investors for the launch of version one and future development of a version two product. I have spoken to a couple of outfits but my client's current requirement is either too small for them (under £5m) or they don't serve/invest in his industry.

That's still really angel / early stage private investor level but he'll need to think carefully about what sort of investors he wants and how that impacts pricing: it'll be very different for silent investors vs those who bring more than just money to the table (which, as should be obvious, can be extremely valuable).

I work for the largest Venture Debt player in the market…. there will be plenty of differences between Angels and VC’s. Probably worth considering what each brings to the table (beyond cash), how their terms stack up, what level of dilution that brings, how involved they will be etc etc

Would be interested to know more about the market they play in, but also worth considering what VCs are being targeted… there’s many who will do small cheques and many who don’t entertain them - you need to find the right ones with the right expertise to support.

Have heard back from my client, and can say that they are manufacturing the ultimate workout earbuds, having raised money so far through strategic angels (with two patents granted) and is now looking for capital to scale the offering.
