I own/owned some shares in a now insolvent company. I've had confirmation from the insolvency practice that no monies will be paid to any share holders and AJ Bell have emailed me to say my shares are classed as worthless and will be removed from my account. Am I able to offset any of the losses? I've read a little about negligible value claims but not 100% sure if I can include these in my tax return.

The company was publicly listed, on the AIM market.

You can claim the value of the loss and offset against any share gains in terms of any CGT calculation.
If no gains then you can carry forward said loss to a future tax year.
